My name is Colton Schmidt and I'm a Bookkeeper in Roscoe, IL. Even though I live in Roscoe I can help business owners with their Bookkeeping from all over the country using the amazing technology of today, such as QuickBooks Online, which is the primary software platform I use.
I've always enjoyed helping people when I can, and something that I've found very helpful is understanding value and effort. What is most valuable and where should I focus my efforts? You can make these decisions if you have understanding of where you are and where you want to go. I think this is the foundation and value of good Bookkeeping.
Who I am
I was born and raised in northern Illinois. I went to college to study Pre-Med because in Highschool my chemistry teacher recommended I consider going into healthcare because I had the "aptitude and personality" for it. The goal was to be a doctor, but I soon realized how expensive and how great of a time commitment it was to be a doctor. Turns out 10 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars of debt commitment was too great for me to stomach when I was 18. I decided to pursue something else in healthcare where I could still help people, but a smaller time and monetary commitment. So I graduated as a Radiographer and have been working in hospitals ever since, but I wanted to do more for my family. I've always been good with numbers, computers, and spend a lot of my non working hours in online spaces and communities. I decided an online business helping others succeed would be a great way to use my skills.
